2011 Help the Homeless Week

In the first half of 2011, The Bridge served over 900 veterans. While only 8% of Americans are vets, veterans make up almost 18% of the homeless population.

As with all of our guests, when veterans arrive at The Bridge, they are immediately provided with essential services, showers, storage, laundry services and meals. Shelter and stability are first.

Then Care Managers at The Bridge partner with the vets and coordinate their continued care with the VA Outreach Team. Through the VA, they are linked to services that help them deal with the individual problems that led to their homelessness, and they receive appropriate housing.

This year, Help the Homeless Week is dedicated to these homeless heroes.
